The Body Shop Tea Tree Cool & Cream Wash + Squeaky Clean Scrub Review

Today's post is going to be on The Body Shop Tea Tree Cool & Cream Wash + Squeaky Clean Scrub Review. The packaging is shown in the photos below.

How I found out about the product was I passed by TBS one day after work & thought of going in to see if there was any products on sale to try.I went inside & saw this..I usually have the habit of asking few questions before buying any of the products plus I prefer checking it out on my own before been approached by a SA..I took this product and was scanning through when a SA came by and asked if I needed any help so I told about my skin & they said tea tree is the right product for blemised oily skin so I decided to try this and picked it up..Best thing was the original price was around SGD 60plus and since they just released this, members got it for SGD 30(cannot remember the price though).I felt really happy that I decided to explore this at the right timing because there is no way am I going to pay SGD 60 for this which I consider it to be way too expensive.

The texture is creamy with white color plus it has tea tree smell which has this heavenly smell.

I tried out this wash for two days & so far it seems fine with my face..It has the cooling sensation after washing my face..The sad part of this will be that it last only for one hour or so and not the whole day.I love the cool clean squeaky feeling that I get with this.Relish that cool moment with TBS plus it does not lather up like other face wash that I have tried in the past..

Loved :

  • Sensation cool feeling
  • Comes in tube form
  • Cleanse my face very well
  • Does not lather much(i prefer it this way)

Cons :
  • Cool feeling is for an hour or so

I find it so difficult to find a good scrub that makes my face feel clean so I ventured into The Body Shop Tea Tree Squeaky Clean Scrub. As you can see in the photo above that it is green in color and liquid type with very small particles that can only be felt when scrubbed on the face.

I took a small amount for my face and applied on my face before scrubbing it and while scrubbing the face, you will be able to feel the menthol like feeling on ur face..It is like as if the scrub is taking away the impurities from your face and making it so clean again. After which, you wash the face with warm water and when you touch your face(esp areas like nose and other places where you feel it is rough),you will feel that it is soft to touch again..

    Loved :

    • Sensation cool feeling
    • Comes in tube form
    • Felt squeaky clean again

    Cons :
    • Wished the feeling was lasting

Will I repurchase both of them again? For the face wash,I won't because I am satisfied with my current Forest Essentials Ubtan(which I have yet to review as I just got it 2 weeks back).

As for the face scrub,I will definitely repurchase it..Worth all the while though feeling is less..

Forest Essentials Delicate Cleanser (Kashmiri Saffron & Neem)

Just went through my blog & realized that I have not blogged about 15 products that I have so I decided to write one everyday & post it(cross my fingers I can do it everyday that is except weekend as I use that timing to dedicate it to my 3yr old Krishna)..

As I come to the post,I am seriously a huge FAN of Forest Essentials and this is one product that I am also in love with right now which is Delicate Cleanser Kashmiri Saffron & Neem..I love anything that comes in Saffron but not Neem..So you can imagine the plight I was in as to whether should I give it a try or not as I hate Neem smell totally..I run in the opposite direction when I smell Neem..I did take a while & also I did read up before buying this..At last one fine day,I decided to give it a try..

    Product Description :

The first rule of Ayurvedic skin care is to cleanse, tone and nourish. The secret to proper cleansing is to remove dead cells and toxins, clear clogged pores and clean make-up without stripping the skin’s natural oils and moisture content.

    Way to use :

Splash water on face then take small amount of the cleanser and rub on the face. Finally wash away with warm water..

    Ingredients :

    Pure distilled Rosewater,Pure distilled Marigold water,Pure distilled Kewda water,Pure distilled Jasmine water,Lemon juice,Organic honey,Neem Oil,Nagkesar,Anantmool,Kumud,Pure Saffron Extract

I was excited to get this product when it reached my house..When I opened the bottle,I smelled Saffron and nothing of Neem(wondered why not even slight neem smell was in it)..

It comes in a tall transparent bottle with a stopper in it.Not knowing that it was a stopper(thought it was to control the amount of oil to be released when I needed to use it),I kept it that way till I used it in the end.The yellow face wash is liquid.

This face wash was ayurvedic and surprisingly gentle on my skin though I did worry that it will break my skin out but it did not at all.I like the ease of application for it.I could feel that my oily face was moisturised first thing in the morning when I used it and also used it at night after using my makeup remover to erase off all my makeup.

    Love or Hate relationship?

It is definitely a love relationship..I got this on March and it lasted me till beginning of August which is around 5months..I am going to buy this soon but before that I will see if there is any other facial cleanser I can use from FE for my oily skin..Definitely not going bk to chemicals at all..

    MAC Studio Finish Concealer

Today I have another product to review..Check it out if I have a love relationship or hatred relationship with it..

Introducing MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer which comes in a pot..

    Product Description :

A lightweight, creamy, discreetly opaque concealer. Provides a smooth, long-wearing invisible coverage for all skin blemishes. Water-resistant, fragrance-free and non-acnegenic. This emollient-based, lightweight concealer is so concentrated that a tiny amount can provide opaque coverage of the skin's imperfections and discolourations. It effectively covers dark circles, blemishes, moles, tattoos and birthmarks. Enriched with antioxidants (derivatives of Vitamin A and Vitamin E), it also contains silica to help absorb the skin's oils. Concealer has broad spectrum SPF 35 protection and is available in a wide range of colours.

How I went about buying it :

I bought this concealer as I have a lot of pimple scars to hide(I know I can use photoshop to do it but too lazy) & I thought of giving MAC a try since I have not tried their concealer before..I went to the shop and got the SA to help me pick the right one & I got this in the end..I was very happy as I thought I will be using this for a long time but I did not know that would not be the case..

Packaging wise I liked it because it is small and comes like in a travel size pot..Only bad thing will be (for those who have no concealer brush like me in the beginning)to use fingers to apply which I kinda of find it to be unhygienic..I wont have mind if they provided a sponge..

    Application wise :

I scoop using my fingertips and apply using my ring finger till scars are covered then I use my MUFE Duo Mat Powder ontop of it.

    Results :

I tried it on my face and it worked well in concealing my medium scars but only thing was the next day I found too many pimples on my face n I didnt apply concealer the next day..I thought some other products were giving me the problem but till now until I applied the concealer there was no problem so I decided to try it again & when I did, unfortunately the next day more pimples started erupting & that is when I decided to put a stop to my MAC concealer..I decided if I would buy concealer,I would rather go elsewhere than MAC..

Verdict : It will be a big "NAH" for me becz it causes my face to break out into pimples..I have found a solution to it & will be reviewing that soon..
